Reports on the 15th annual “Strike at the Wind!” art dinner. Gene Locklear spoke to the 250 people in attendance, discussing the importance of goal-setting, the qualities a professional artist must have, the integral part of parents in the psychological makeup of their children, and the importance of “Strike at the Wind!”. The auction that evening raised $43,000 for the outdoor drama. Locklear's painting, “The Spirit of the Lowry Gang,” was purchased for $8,500 by Pennie Arokiasamy. This “history piece” is the first of a three-part series that Locklear will paint for “Strike at the Wind!”.
