Cummings asks for “any Lumbee Indian without
regard of residence, education or social status” to “submit
your best works” for a two-part anthology. This “tribal anthology”
will be called Lumbee artistry: breaking through the buckskin curtain.
The literary volume will be called Frybread for the spirit. The
visual arts volume will be called With these hands. The anthology
will be published by Renegade Planets Publishing, an American Indian owned
company. Deadline for submissions is August 1, 1999.
