Announces that UNC-P has received a 3-year, $991,439 federal grant to help provide a supply of teachers for Robeson County's public schools. The U.S. Department of Education grant will provide scholarships for 61 Native American students who have been admitted to UNC-P's teacher education program. In return, the students must teach in Robeson County's public schools for at least two years after graduation. In the last year of the three-year grant, the focus will be on retention of teachers.
