Publication type: Newspaper article The Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina System has endorsed a resolution to change the name of Pembroke State University to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Before the change can be made, final approval must come from the state's General Assembly. For the legislature to consider the matter, an exception to the rules on what can be considered in a short session must be passed. Rep. Ronnie Sutton and Sen.
