Brooks, as chairperson of the N.C. Commission
of Indian Affairs, reminds UNC System Board of Governors President Molly
Broad of UNC-Pembroke's history as a normal school for Lumbee Indians
and of its two earlier Indian chancellors. Urges her to “give every
consideration to appointing an American Indian as the next Chancellor.”
