In a speech at a Parent Teacher Association meeting, Purnell Swett High School principal Wesley Revels told the audience of 300 about measures that have been taken to deal with racial tensions. Sixteen surveillance cameras have been placed in the school, and the state's Human Relations Commission has been asked for assistance. Revels commented that of the 146 school days in the current year, only three have been “bad.”
