Very brief report. The complete text is as follows: "This state makes special provision for separate schools for the Croatan Indians in Robeson county, where there are more than 2,500 of these intensely interesting people. Some Croatans recently moved to Edgecombe county, and ask for a special school there. It cannot be provided. The law forbids that Croatans shall attend white schools or marry white persons. It does not forbid their marrying negroes or attending negro schools. As a matter of fact, Croatans do sometimes marry mulattoes, but are careful to select the comely ones. Their people oppose such marriages."
