Briefly discusses efforts being made to promote tourism by Robeson County's Image Improvement Task Force, by the Chamber of Commerce's “travel team” (which helps decide where to place ads, paid for from a portion of the occupancy tax levied on motel rooms), and by the county's Office of Economic Development.  Lists tourism draws such as the Lumbee River, the Highland Games in Red Springs, the Humphrey-Williams-Smith House and Plantation, the Native American Resource Center (UNC-Pembroke), and the North Carolina Indian Cultural Center.
