Carolina Power & Light and Southern Natural Gas plan to build the Palmetto Pipeline along a 175-mile corridor between Aiken, S. C. and Robeson County.  The pipeline will ultimately interconnect with Robeson County facilities of North Carolina Natural Gas Company. The project could bring a total of $3 million in property tax to the nine counties along the route.
