The 1979 edition first appeared as weekly installments in CIV, 24 Oct. 1974–8 Dec. 1977. Includes many quotations from other published sources on the Gang, most cited in this bibliography. Explains the importance of Henry Berry Lowry to Lumbee Indians. The new edition has many illustrations, including a reproduction of an authentic photograph of Lowry. Reprints the Harper’s Magazine illustrations (entry 1081); has photographs of tombstones of several of Lowry's family members.
