Locklear, a Tuscarora, did extensive genealogical and local history research for the Tuscarora petition for federal recognition (see entry 755), filed with the BIA in December, 1989. Materials include: documents relating to the 1934 Indian Reorganization Act (primarily personal applications with photographs, genealogical tables and charts, and anthropometric records); maps of the Red Banks project; and over 500 photographs (some identified) of people from the Harper's Ferry/White Hill community. Most of the latter are deceased; some were born as early as the 1820’s.
