Publication type: Newsletter article

Describes the photographic exhibition, “Recollections: Lumbee
heritage,” which opened at the Mint Museum in Charlotte and ran
through March 12, 1995. The exhibition featured photographs of
religious ceremonies, social gatherings, individual and group
portraits, and household and farmwork, taken 1870-1945. They were
juxtaposed with contemporary photographs of the same activities
taken by David Oxendine in 1994. A brief overview of Lumbee
history completes the article.
