INDI004. "Indiana didn't do Sampson any favors." Sporting News April 14 2006: 67.

Publication type: Newspaper article

Electronic access: EBSCOHost Academic Search Premier (NCLIVE)

This brief article comments on the way in which Indiana University handled the information flow regarding their search for a new basketball coach and the way it disadvantaged Kelvin Sampson. Athletic director Rick Greenspan avoided the media; thus, most coverage was dominated by comments from people who wanted Indiana to hire a former Indiana University player. In addition, Indiana University made overtures to Mark Few; in the opinion of this writer, it was unlikely Few would accept an offer. For these reasons, the announcement of Sampson's hire came as a surprise.
