YEOM002. Yeomans, Jonathan. “County poverty on agenda.” Robesonian Tuesday, February 20, 2007.

Publication type: Newspaper article

This article announces that Mac Legerton, executive director of the Center for Community Action, will ask the County Commissioners to pursue state legislation that would aid the development of small businesses in Robeson County. Legerton believes that the growth of small, family-owned businesses would help alleviate Robeson County's poverty rate, which grew from 22.8% in 2000 to 34.7% in 2005.
