Discusses Harvey Godwin, Lumbee, who operates an employment agency (Two Hawk Employment Services) with headquarters in Lumberton and branches in Laurinburg, Greensboro, Durham, and a Sioux Indian reservation in South Dakota. He opened the agency in May, 1999 and has since placed 800-1,000 workers, most in the food and printing industries but some in construction and computer work.

In spite of the fact that Robeson County, as of this writing, had lost 6,000 jobs in six years, Godwin sees opportunities for job growth--from facilities improvements and enrollment increases at UNC-Pembroke, new stores in Lumberton, and companies looking to open in areas with a high unemployment rate.

Godwin managed Julian Pierce's campaign for Superior Court judge in 1988.
