Brief account of the Lumbee Tribal Council's vote to establish the Lumbee Nation Development Corporation, a for-profit corporation with a ten-year goal of over 1,000 employees and generation of $100 million in revenue.  Although the tribe will own the corporation, the revenue will be controlled by the corporation's board of directors.  Besides tribal council members, the board of directors will include accountants, business school faculty, and other individuals with business experience.  The corporation will keep the income needed to operate, but any excess funds will go to the Lumbee Tribe.
