Brief mention. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (MPTN) provides employment for nearly 700 American Indians (some Pequot, some from other U.S. or Canadian tribes). Some work in the casino; others, in tribal government offices. Cedric Woods, Lumbee, has worked for the MPTN since 1995. He is a manager who helps members of the tribe find jobs or plan their education.
