Jim Lowry, a dealer/operator with High Point Chevrolet Jeep, began a 3-year term this month on the seven-member Board of Directors of the Charlotte office of the Federal Reserve Board. Lowry, a Lumbee, served for two years as chairperson of the Lumbee Self-Determination Commission. Lowry is one of three Board members appointed from outside the financial industry. One of the Board's main responsibilities is to provide information each month to the Richmond district office of the Federal Reserve Board about the economic climate of the Triad and the Carolinas. Each of the 36 regional offices of the Federal Reserve Bank provides similar information, helping the Federal Reserve Bank determine economic policy for the nation.
