This article describes the funeral of Superior Court judge Dexter Brooks at Harpers Ferry Baptist Church, attended by nearly 400 people. Brooks was the son of John J. and Lela Hammonds Brooks, both teachers. The article includes remarks on Brooks from the Rev. Bob Mangum, the Rev. Mike Cummings, District Attorney Johnson Britt, associate state Supreme Court justice G. K. Butterfield Jr., and District Court judge Herbert Richardson.
