MARS001. Marshall, John “Tall Bird.” “Can you vote? Would you vote if given the opportunity?” Carolina Indian Voice 5 November 1998:2.

Publication type: Newspaper article

Letter to the editor. The author, who lives in Rocky Mount, read recently in the Carolina Indian Voice that Rev. Jerry McNeill was elected Tribal Chairman.  Marshall lives only 135 miles from Pembroke and is an enrolled tribal member but was sent no information on how to vote in the election. He feels voting opportunities should also be given to the 1,038 Lumbees living in Maryland, 652 in Michigan, 500 in Virginia, and 500 in California.
