In this installment of his “As I see it” column, Barton comments on his hopes that the newly elected Tribal Council will focus on providing leadership rather than worrying about what LRDA is doing. He urges the Council to accomplish its number one task, writing a viable constitution, before tackling other issues. He praises the work LRDA has done for many years and the legacy it has left for the tribe to build upon. He “hope(s) LRDA continues as a viable, non-profit corporation. They have experience and derring-do galore.”
