The article describes the treatment and progress
of T.L., a 25-year-old Lumbee who was seriously injured in an automobile
accident and cared for at Wake Medical Rehabilitation in Raleigh. The author
purchased a dreamcatcher for him and was pleased when he became able to
respond to it. Although operations were needed, his condition improved
steadily. His bright personality and spirited perseverance inspired the
author and her coworkers.
