Gerald and Tony Locklear are planning to triple the power of their television station, WPEM TV-47 in Lumberton, which went on the air on May 17, 1996. The station is currently available only to viewers without cable and only spans a 60-mile radius. The gospel-only station is nevertheless viewed in 40,000 homes in Robeson, Lumberton, Hoke, Bladen, and Scotland Counties. The Locklears receive videotapes of area church services, edit them (a one-hour service takes three to four hours to edit), and broadcast them.
