Profile of Lorna McNeill by a fellow member of the Alpha Pi Omega sorority. McNeill, a candidate for Miss North Carolina, has previously been Miss North Carolina Teen USA (1992), Miss Lumbee (1994-95), Miss Fayetteville (1998-99), and a top 10 finalist in the 1998-99 Miss North Carolina pageant. She recorded a contemporary Christian CD, “Step by Step,” in Nashville in 1994. She was a soloist, along with James Taylor, at the inauguration of Governor James Hunt in 1998. She took time off from college courses at UNC-Pembroke to work as an entertainer with Commodore Cruise Lines and, later, with American Hawaii Cruise Lines.
